Botox vs dermal fillers: what’s the difference?

While they are both popular cosmetic treatments, they work in different ways and are used to address different concerns.

  • Botox works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines, particularly in areas such as the forehead, around the eyes, and between the eyebrows. It can be used for both cosmetic and medical purposes, such as reducing the appearance of crow’s feet or alleviating symptoms of TMJ or migraines.
  • Dermal fillers are injectable gels that are designed to add volume, fill in wrinkles and creases, and enhance facial features. They can be used to address concerns such as nasolabial folds, sunken cheeks, or thin lips.
While both Botox and dermal fillers are non-surgical treatments with minimal downtime, they work in different ways and are used to address different concerns. Our team can help you determine which treatment is best suited for your individual needs and desired outcome.
